The Connected Tech Community of the GSA Technology Council

This is the first place I am posting that we have confirmed Peter Coffee of SalesForce.com for our February Lunch. He sent me a slate of topics and asked us to pick. What do you think?

1) Beyond Virtualization: Revolutionizing Cloud Application Design
Cloud computing should rise above migration of old IT models into virtualized containers. Rather than preserving existing "silos" of separate data, maximize enterprise returns in the highly connected cloud.

2) The Cloud as IT Extender: Integration in All Directions
Integration opportunities and tools enable the enterprise cloud to do much more than the mass-market Web. It's vital to recognize and exploit these connections to liberate latent value from legacy IT assets.

3) Creating Cloud Communities: Making Your Customers Your Partners
As every product in the world becomes configurable and extendable, at least one customer winds up knowing more than you do about how to make your product do some particular and very useful thing. It's time to recognize the opportunities -- and to sell, internally, the concepts of opening up the process of service and support -- to treat your customers' collective expertise as one of your biggest assets.

4) Social but Secure: Chatter and the Next Generation of Event-Driven Applications
When "everything has a feed," applications can evolve out of problems, instead of requiring application designers to foresee the future and hit that moving target. APIs and development tools are enabling Twitter, Facebook, and the new salesforce.com Chatter platform as key cloud resources for developers and enterprise architects.
